We were Eastbound all weekend, with ukuleles, church organs and wedding band kit treading boards up and down the coast, Dublin, Wicklow & Wexford.
When performing as The Kooky Ukes we are receiving a great response to our cover of Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke. You get a genuine feeling of surprise when people start smiling and filming with their phones – to us, it’s just another fun tune to do, but it really stands out. There is a lot of love for The Kooky Ukes in general, which is most welcome and again, totally unexpected. We’re just doing our thing! The informal vibe in a professional context is really refreshing as a performer, I’ve never experienced that before, perhaps what it feels like to do live comedy.
Great audiences and brilliant couples this weekend; the dance-floor on both nights was packed to capacity. In The Riverside Park Hotel, our version of ‘Proud Mary‘ (Rolling On The River) lead to a great Flash-Mob style exhibition by the Bride and her guests, all facing the stage and synced in their movements – very impressive!
